Milpark Education is proud to announce that it has been awarded accreditation as a training provider on the internationally recognised Association of Accounting Technicians South Africa (AAT SA) qualifications. The qualifications are endorsed by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and are designed to improve individuals’ career prospects in finance and accounting.

AAT SA is a professional body dedicated to the education, development, regulation and support of accounting technicians. The body, along with its UK partner AAT UK, recently dissolved their joint partnership and a new professional body was formed. This new body is the Accounting Technicians SA (ATSA), under the wing of SAICA – a professional accountancy body in SA.

Milpark Education now competes with traditional higher education institutions that offer the same qualifications targeted at all staff levels, from admin to professional accounting technicians. The focus of these qualifications is to provide learners with basic finance and accounting skills to enhance entrepreneurship through SMMEs and to assist municipalities with obtaining clean audits.

Milpark College Academic Manager, Maritsa Grewe, says that through these qualifications, “we seek to develop, empower and deliver better skilled and qualified accounting technicians into the economy. We offer a diverse range of practical, work-ready accounting and finance qualifications and professional memberships that offer a solid foundation in accounting, finance and business practice, endorsed by SAICA, open to everyone and accessible at any level.”

“Students that start with the Certificate: Accounting Technician on level 3 can articulate into the level 4 FETC Accounting Technician qualification and thereafter the Certificate in Accounting on level 5. The Certificate in Local Government Accounting is popular among the various municipalities,” she explains.

Milpark Education is approved to deliver the qualifications detailed below under the scope of ATSA:
