Overview
The general purpose of the Bachelor of Commerce in Banking Management programme is to provide students with the opportunity to develop particular skills, aligned applied proficiencies and critical knowledge in various subjects such as banking, business management, accounting principles and law. The primary purpose of the Bachelor of Commerce in Banking Management is to provide and equip students with an understanding and knowledge of the skills needed to comply with and be effective in the banking environment.
The qualification also aims to enhance the constructive role individuals need to play as intellectual leaders in the banking and commercial sectors in South Africa. The motivation for this qualification is to present appropriate and salient learning outcomes in the field of business management and commerce and specifically the sub-field of banking. Knowledge gained through the Bachelor of Commerce in Banking Management programme aims to equip students with the attitudes and abilities necessary for making sense of the discipline, as well as the world of work, in a way that ensures chances for ongoing personal and intellectual development, as well as financially viable activities; such outcomes are intended to encourage lifelong learning.
The Bachelor of Commerce in Banking Management is offered via Contact or Distance Learning. It is supported by excellent quality teaching material and either experienced facilitators (in Contact Learning) or effective tutors (in Distance Learning).
