How to apply

Before you begin:
  • We want to make sure that you have made the right choice for your career. If you have any doubt about your choice, please contact our career counsellor at: [email protected]
  • Ensure that you meet the minimum requirements and have all required documentation for your selected programme, as specified in the information pack available on each programme / short course page.
  • Application closing dates are also on the specific programme pages.
  • Ensure that you apply for admission well before the close of registration to avoid disappointment. Late applications will only be considered for the following semester.
  • We require your valid 13-digit South African ID number in order to validate your application. Milpark Education respects your personal information. For more information on our Privacy Notice please click here.
  • Students applying on a new programme must complete an admission application and receive academic acceptance onto the programme before registering for individual subjects.

International student admissions process

All international applicants need to apply via the online admission application route and submit certified digital copies of their admission documentation.

For detailed admission requirements, please refer to the relevant fact sheet for the specific qualification for which you wish to apply.

1. Individuals enrolling via distance learning…

…who are submitting foreign school leaving or tertiary qualifications as part of their admission application, are required to obtain a Certificate of Equivalence for said qualification from SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority) prior to applying for admission onto their preferred qualification.

…who wish to apply for admission onto a bachelor’s degree with a foreign senior certificate/school leaving certificate or tertiary qualification are required to obtain an exemption certificate from Universities South Africa (USAf) prior to applying for admission onto the qualification.

…may be required to do an English language proficiency test.

…do not need to comply with any visa or residency permit requirements if residing in a foreign country.

…must provide evidence of a valid South African residency permit if residing in South Africa.

…when applicable, will receive study materials via courier in their country of residence.

…will receive support via distance learning methods.

 

Note:

Students may be liable for additional costs in respect to courier and examinations where applicable.

2. Distance learning students who want to visit South Africa to attend a single short workshop or write an assessment at a South African venue, have to do so based on the normal visa/visiting requirements as stipulated by the Department of Home Affairs (issuer of visas/permits).

Note:

Such a visit does not imply permission to remain in South Africa indefinitely based on registration at Milpark Education.

 

3. Foreign Nationals studying via Distance learning are not allowed to provide a South African residential or postal address without providing evidence of a valid South African residency permit.

Credit card payments can be made via myMilpark when registering online or at our Cape Town offices.

VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club are accepted.

 

Option 4: Company sponsorship/bursary

If your employer is paying for your studies, you must submit a bursary letter on a company letterhead when you register. The following information must be included:

  • Date
  • Full name and surname
  • ID Number/Passport number
  • Bursary Qualification
  • Module names and cost per module
  • Value of approved bursary
  • Authorised signature

 

 

 

Student Bursaries

Milpark Education offers a number of bursaries to students annually, based on need and academic performance. Bursaries are one of the ways in which we both support our students and assist industry in achieving South Africa’s transformation agenda.

The Bursary Programme aims to produce quality graduates drawn from groups who may not previously have had access to a sector or area of study. Bursaries are provided to previously disadvantaged candidates who meet our criteria.

Bursary Applications for the 2024 academic year

  • Please read and complete all documentation very carefully prior to making your application.
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered under any circumstances.
  • Note that financial need and academic suitability are required.

Applications close: 30 November 2023

Decisions will be communicated to students no later than 31 January 2024.

 

Please note that Milpark bursaries are not available for the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA/CTA) and Advanced Accounting (Bridging Short Course to PGDA / CTA).

Exemptions

If you have completed a qualification at another accredited institution, you may be eligible for subject exemptions.

To apply for an Exemption:

  1. submit the relevant application if any of the modules you have completed previously (no more than 10 years ago) are similar to the modules on the qualification you are applying for.
  2. submit your original exemption application form together with originally certificated documents to Milpark.
Note: If you have previously completed a qualification at Milpark Education, you may also be eligible for subject exemptions, however these will be automatically granted on admission. No application is required.

 

Registration

On successful admission, you can proceed with the registration of your semester modules.

To register, ensure that you:

  1. have received your login details to access myMilpark.
  2. adhere to the registration closing dates as per the relevant programme timetable.

 

Proceed to myMilpark

You will be required to upload your proof of payment - proof of deposit/EFT, bursary letter or credit card.)

OR
