Certificate in Financial Products

The primary purpose of the Certificate in Financial Products is to provide and equip learners with the basic understanding and relevant skills to operate ethically and responsibly as financial advisers, matching clients’ needs to appropriate life insurance products. This Certificate provides a broad introduction to the life insurance industry and its products. It also covers the content prescribed by the Fit and Proper legislation for Long-term Category B1 and B2.

 

The Certificate: Financial Products appears on the Financial Services Board’s (FSB) list of recognised qualifications for FAIS Fit and Proper purposes. In terms of this rating, the qualification is considered to be relevant to all product categories as a generic (G) qualification, while rated as specific (S) or (SP) in certain sub-categories in Category I (refer to the factsheet for more information).

 

The Certificate: Financial Products is offered at NQF Level 5 and is delivered via Distance Learning.
