The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom degree) with a major in Banking will provide a solid basis to enable graduates to operate responsibly and successfully in the banking environment. It could also open doors to individuals who would like to specialise in the investment arena later on.
The global banking industry has faced a number of challenges in the last few years. This has resulted in banks looking to up-skill their staff by raising the qualification requirements for certain jobs. For example, applicants – in most cases – need to be in possession of a degree in order to enter the corporate banking environment. Although other bachelor degrees are accepted, banks prefer commerce graduates with a major in Banking.
The BCom degree is offered on NQF Level 7 via contact learning from the Melville campus or nationally via distance learning.
