The primary purpose of the Certificate: Financial Planning is to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to operate ethically and responsibly as financial advisers, and to be able to respond to the challenges of the economic environment and the changing nature of the financial services industry.
The Certificate: Financial Planning appears on the Financial Services Board’s (FSB) list of recognised qualifications for FAIS Fit and Proper purposes. In terms of this rating, the qualification is considered to be relevant to all product categories as a generic (G) qualification, while rated as specific (S) or (SP) in certain sub-categories in Category I (refer to the factsheet for more information).
The Certificate: Financial Planning is offered at NQF Level 5 and is delivered via Distance Learning.
