MBA student repatriates 83 SA citizens from Pakistan
We would like to feature one of our current MBA students, Zulekha Hassim.
She wrote to Milpark and said:
“Milpark Business School has definitely helped me to apply
collective, innovative and value-based leadership to help bring a smile to families whose loved ones were separated from them."
This is her edited story:
The project started off with family members approaching me for assistance to bring back my husband's cousin who was stuck in Pakistan having attended a religious gathering. Following discussions with him, it was later established that a total of 83 South African Citizens were stuck with him in Pakistan and these included people who had traveled for business as well as pleasure.
My role in the project was to engage with relevant stakeholders, both in the public and private sectors, namely ACSA, SADC, foreign missions, relevant airline and High Commissions.
This project resulted in 83 South African citizens returning to South Africa and the repatriation of 81 Pakistani nationals back to Pakistan. I facilitated, through partnerships with colleagues in other departments, the entire project.
I am attaching an appreciation excerpt received from the Dep High Commissioner of Pakistan for the Pakistani nationals that exited.
