Short Courses

Milpark Education's short courses provide prospective students with an opportunity to gain skills and knowledge in the domains of  management, business administration and bookkeeping/accounting.

These courses are flexible and engaging, in that students attend classes on Saturdays over a period of two to three months with the support of subject matter experts. These contact-learning sessions provide students with the opportunity to network with their peers and share ideas on how to improve existing processes and procedures in their current work environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

These are Short Courses, which — by regulation — do not have to be registered (and are indeed not registered) on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

The assessment approach may differ from one short course to another. The rules applicable to your specific short course will be handed to you at the start of the programme.

In cases where the short course has formative and summative assessments in the form of an assignment and an exam, students need to obtain an overall final mark of 50% (combination of formative and summative mark), with a minimum of 40% in the examination, in order to pass a module. If you do not obtain the minimum mark of 40% in the examination, you will need to repeat the module during the next examination session and submit a new assignment in all instances.

If you fail the module due to the fact that you have not achieved an overall mark of 50% or more, but have achieved at least 40% in the examination, you will be granted an opportunity to rewrite the examination at the next available examination date for that course. A rewrite fee will apply. Formative marks will be carried to this rewrite examination, but students who score at least 50% in the rewrite examination will pass the module regardless of their formative mark.
