About the Programme

This qualification is designed for those aiming to become expert financial planning practitioners, offering services to individual and corporate clients, and for those seeking to qualify as a CFP® professional.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning will equip you with the expert knowledge and professional skills required by practitioners in the financial planning sector. You will be competent to provide financial planning services to a wide range of individual and corporate clients.

Milpark Education is an FPI Recognised Educational Provider, offering qualifications that align with the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa’s standards. On completion of the Milpark Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning, students will gain access to the FPI Capstone Course for the CFP® Certification. The Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning appears on the Financial Sector Conduct Authority’s (FSCA) list of recognised qualifications for FAIS Fit and Proper purposes.

Applicants require a Bachelor’s degree.

Minimum Admission Requirements

In addition to a relevant Bachelor’s degree, applicants require a pass in Matric mathematics (higher grade) or a C symbol (standard grade). Post-matric studies demonstrating required math skills are considered.

A detailed CV of the last ten years’ employment is required for curriculum planning. Those without extensive financial planning experience must complete the qualification over two years. Applicants whose tax knowledge is outdated, will only be allowed to register for the other modules after passing Induction to Financial Planning and Financial Planning Environment.
