Since our establishment in 1997, we have evolved to become an educational institution that is recognised internationally. All the programmes offered by Milpark Education are benchmarked against international standards.
In South Africa, all higher education programmes must be quality assured by the Council on Higher Education's Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC). Once the HEQC has approved a programme, it is registered by the Department of Higher Education and Training and is also listed on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) which is administered by the South African Qualifications Authority, known as SAQA. The National Qualifications Framework (NQF) is a 10-level framework in terms of which all higher education (HE) qualifications are constructed and mapped. To further cement this standing, Milpark offers the only online AMBA-accredited MBA in Africa. Other accreditations include SAICA accreditation for our Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting qualification, offered through Milpark incorporating CA Connect.
When studying your Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree at Milpark Education, you can complete the general BCom stream, or choose from a selection of majors offered within 3 of our Schools.
The School of Commerce offers majors in Compliance and Risk Management or Taxation. The School of Professional Accounting, offers a BCom in Accounting, and the School of Financial Services, offers majors in Banking, Financial Planning, Investment Management, Short-term Insurance, Credit or Banking and Investment Management. Our School brochures provide a detailed breakdown of courses available as well as the admission requirements necessary to apply for each. All our academic courses have been outlined to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience with Milpark.
If you are looking to enter the business and commerce industry, a BCom degree is amongst the most popular degrees obtained due to its versatility.
By studying a BCom degree, you can develop your business acumen and management capabilities through systematically building up knowledge in key business areas. At Milpark, there are 9 different BCom major options to choose from, in addition to the general BCom degree programme.
The broader field of commerce does lend itself to well-paying jobs. However, studying a commerce degree or diploma does not guarantee financial success. There is no definite answer, as students choose different career prospects and interests once they have completed their commerce qualification at Milpark.
CA Connect, which forms part of Milpark Education within the School of Professional Accounting, offers the only fully online SAICA-accredited CTA in South Africa. This programme is designed for students on their path to CA(SA).
Find out more about the SAICA-accredited CTA programme here.
